MGM Signature Unit 701: What to Expect and What to Do

MGM Signature Unit 701 suite with private balcony and Las Vegas Strip views

900 square feet on the 21st floor. A private balcony facing the Strip. Full kitchen, two marble bathrooms, a Jacuzzi tub, and no resort fee. That is Unit 701 at MGM Signature, and it is a genuinely different way to experience Las Vegas.

Here is what to expect when you stay, and what is worth doing while you are there.

The Suite

King bed in the private bedroom. Queen pull-out sofa in the living area. Two full marble bathrooms, one with a Jacuzzi tub. Four-burner stove, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and coffee maker. Washer and dryer in the unit. 42-inch flat screen. Locking safe.

The private balcony faces the Strip. The view at night, with the lights running south toward Mandalay Bay and north toward the Wynn, is the kind of thing that makes the upgrade feel obvious in retrospect.

The No-Resort-Fee Advantage

Strip hotels charge $35 to $55 per night in resort fees on top of the room rate. On a five-night stay, that is $175 to $275 that does not appear until checkout. Book Unit 701 directly at luxstayusa.com and that charge does not exist. Valet parking is complimentary at MGM Signature (subject to availability), and free self-parking is available at MGM Grand next door.

Entertainment

MGM Signature connects to MGM Grand via covered walkway. Cirque du Soleil KA, David Copperfield, and Jabbawockeez are all steps away without going outside. The MGM concierge can assist with show tickets and priority seating for Signature guests.

The Sphere is ten minutes by rideshare. The immersive shows there are unlike anything else in Las Vegas. Book tickets before you arrive; it sells out on weekends.

Dining

The full kitchen handles breakfast and late-night meals without paying resort prices. For dinners out, the MGM Grand complex covers the range: Joel Robuchon for Michelin-starred French cuisine, Craftsteak for a group steak dinner, Emeril's New Orleans Fish House for something with more soul, and Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill for elevated comfort food.

Make reservations before you arrive. Joel Robuchon and Craftsteak both fill up. The MGM concierge can assist.

Nightlife

Hakkasan at MGM Grand is a multi-level club with a serious sound system and a consistent lineup of headlining DJs. Wet Republic is the dayclub on the MGM property, open seasonally. For something off-campus: Omnia at Caesars and XS at Wynn are both worth the short ride.

The practical advantage of Unit 701 for nightlife: you are home in minutes. No expensive late rides, no waiting in a hotel lobby elevator bank.

Wellness and Recreation

The Jacuzzi tub in the marble bathroom is the right call after a long day on the Strip. The three private heated pools in the Signature towers are quieter than the main MGM Grand pool deck. Full fitness center in each tower with no additional fee. The MGM Grand Spa has 30 treatment rooms, saunas, and steam rooms.

Shopping and Day Adventures

The Shops at Crystals connects to MGM via pedestrian walkway: Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Tom Ford, and Versace in a climate-controlled space. The Forum Shops at Caesars are 15 minutes on foot. The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian are worth the trip for the setting.

For day trips: Valley of Fire is an hour northeast and worth a full day. Hoover Dam is 30 minutes southeast. Helicopter tours over the Strip and Grand Canyon are available from several operators near the airport.
